  I went to long fong jewellery jewellery to resize my engagement and wedding rings. They recommended that i redip them. I was happy to do so. When I picked them up it looked fine, until I took it home. The rings no longer fit together (they are uniquely designed to fit kind of like a puzzle). And moved apart constantly. One point of my wedding ring was buffed so far down that there was a gap where it used to fit snuggly into my engagement ring. There were scratches all over it, including a dark mark caused by some kind of chemical. They dipped the white gold diamond casing of my engagement ring so far in that it went on the yellow gold band as well. The diamond casing itself was also narrower. 2 days later, while I wasn't wearing it (because they looked terrible) a diamond fell out of my wedding band. I took it to another jeweller to quote the price to fix it and it was $650. After finding out how much it would cost to repair the ring I did go back. When I explained everything to them they were extremely rude an unhelpful. They kept blaming me for the diamond falling out - which I know with certainty it was due to the resizing not my 'pulling it out' as they accused me of. They then justified the fact that they don't fit together any more by telling me they 'didn't take notice of how they were supposed to fit before they started' and that it was my problem. They informed me that to redip a ring they need to grind it back and naturally the ring will become thinner. When I told them they should have told me that before I accepted to get it done, they basically told me they don't have to tell me everythingy they do. When I told them I would contact consumer affairs they told me to 'do whatever needs to be done'. Now I am stuck with misfiting, damaged wedding rings which I have lived for 6 years. I will call consumer affairs, and I will still have to repair them. They were happy to ruin my rings for $100 in their pocket. I recommend steering clear from this place.
